Hailed by the New York Times as “deeply expressive” for his groundbreaking recording of Bach’s Goldberg Variations, Pius Cheung ( @cheungpius ) is widely known as one of the most important percussionists of his generation. He has presented solo recitals around the world at venues such as Carnegie Hall, Kennedy Center and National Centre for the Performing Arts in Beijing, as well as music festivals around the globe such as the Usedom Music Festival (Germany), Manchester Music Festival, Hong Kong Arts Festival, Taiwan International Percussion Convention and more. As a composer, he has been commissioned by Dame Evelyn Glennie, Ju Percussion Group, the National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra and Eugene Ballet Company.
